The path to knowledge is made of encounters and sharing, always a core value for the organic winery Trebotti.

This is exactly why the EcoWineExperience were created: days dedicated to discovering the Trebotti estate and its surroundings.

Eco because these experiences happen immersed in nature, sharing stories of fair and sustainable agriculture.
Wine because wine is the main thread, first in the storytelling and then in the tasting.
Experience because it’s more than a walk — it’s an engaging, enriching experience.

Since the EcoWineExperience were designed, the Trebotti organic winery has aimed not only to organise pleasant walks and tastings, but also to educate and inform visitors along the way.

Every Sunday Trebotti offers a special EcoWineExperience. It starts with a guided tour through nature and artwork, continues inside the Etruscan cave and the winery, and ends with lunch together featuring organic local dishes paired with volcanic organic wines, including vertical tastings of old vintages or previews. The winery is open every day with a wide range of experiences available.

In 2020, the winery developed an efficient online booking and purchasing system. Learn more at Shop Trebotti • Organic and Sustainable Wines from Tuscia.

Joining an EcoWineExperience is relaxing and rejuvenating: you walk among the vineyards and olive groves, meet Jane the donkey, visit a cave (likely a 2,500-year-old Etruscan tomb) where 3S L’Ancestrale sparkling wine matures in the volcanic tuff of Lake Bolsena, and enjoy an extraordinary view over the Tiber valley towards the Alviano Oasis and nearby Umbria at Trebotti’s doorstep. At the same time, the experience helps visitors discover valuable insights about wine and conservation agriculture.

With Trebotti you can also design tailored packages. For example, you may take part in the olive harvest, pick blackberries and learn how to turn them into natural, 100% organic artisan jam, or discover truffle hunting with tastings paired with Trebotti organic wines.

These are just a few examples of the most recent activities offered on the estate.

Trebotti believes in involving visitors, sharing the idea of the winery not only as a place of production but also as a hub for community and territorial development to which everyone can contribute.

In 2003 the three Botti brothers chose Tuscia to produce quality wine, creating the organic winery Trebotti.

The vineyards overlook the Tiber valley, a short distance from Civita di Bagnoregio and Lake Bolsena, Europe’s largest volcanic lake. This terroir makes outstanding products possible. Through innovation and sustainability, Trebotti has long produced volcanic, independent, organic wines.

They are among the first carbon-neutral winemakers in the world.

Trebotti ethics are deeply tied to the territory (as a community, not only as land) that hosts the estate and supplies the grapes for quality organic wines—a territory Trebotti is grateful for. Educating visitors in a simple, direct and mindful way is how the winery gives back to that hospitality.

Visitors discover Trebotti’s commitment to fair, environmentally sustainable agriculture. Every corner of the estate is a chance to explain sustainability projects and innovations, also thanks to Trebotti’s role as a living lab working with research institutes and universities (Sant’Anna University of Pisa, CRA Arezzo, CMCC, University of Tuscia, and others). Collaborations include on-site research and hosting trainees. In April 2021, for example, an international group from the American University of Rome spent 48 hours on the estate learning about innovations while experiencing the daily work of farmers, winemakers and cellar staff. Training also included a visit to MUVIS – Museum of Wine and Agri-Food Sciences, Europe’s largest wine museum with more than 4,000 sqm of exhibition space.

At the same time, a visit feels like walking through real works of art. During many events, especially the BioHarvest, Trebotti brings cultivation and culture together. Each year artists exhibit works linked to nature, sustainability, recovery and reuse on the busiest visitor day, and Trebotti buys one or more pieces for a permanent evolving art trail. With the slogan “TREBOTTI in Teverina – Wine, Art, Culture” the estate hosts concerts, exhibitions and conferences. Every year the BioHarvest takes place on a Sunday in mid-September: in the morning you learn to harvest and follow your grapes from vine to tank; after breakfast in the rows and the traditional ham ceremony, artists present their work, followed by lunch among the vines. The territory’s harvest-day menu paired with Trebotti wines is made unforgettable by live music. The afternoon closes with a technical tasting with sommeliers, winemakers and journalists.

Since the winery was founded, more than 15,000 wine tourists from around the world have been welcomed.

With EcoWineExperience at Trebotti you can enjoy unforgettable days through tours and tastings of estate wines, with lunches prepared using the best Tuscia products among vineyards, olive groves and nature.
